A Lil Bit of..Our Story

A Lil Bit of… began as a simple idea shared between Nadine and her daughter, Naomi. What started as a hobby—creating soaps, candles, and jewelry and selling them at local craft shows—quickly grew into something much bigger than either of them imagined.

Eight years later, the brand has grown a loyal following of customers who seek out our products wherever we go. But as rewarding as craft shows can be, the constant loading, unloading, and travel from show to show takes its toll—especially over time. Naomi chose to pursue other paths, and while Nadine continued on, it became clear that this way of doing business wasn’t sustainable forever.

For years, Nadine held a vision close to her heart: opening a storefront that would give local vendors, crafters, and small business owners a permanent place to share their work—especially those facing the same challenges she was. She also dreamed of expanding the space to someday include a bookstore and possibly a small coffee shop or café.

​

Then the right opportunity presented itself—in the very same plaza where Nadine operates her massage therapy business. After a conversation with the landlord and spreading the word to local vendors, everything fell into place.

And just like that, the vision became reality.

A Lil Bit of… Gift Shop & More is opened its doors in April of 2026—created from passion, perseverance, and a deep love for supporting small businesses and the local community.

Outside of working in the store and massage- Nadine enjoys family time with her husband of 34 years and 4 awesome kids. In her spare time she belongs to Hawkeye Bowmen Archery Club, holds the secretary position and  Traditional Shoot Chairperson and shoots her bow when she can. She is also a committee member for the Spooktacular for the Alden Substance Abuse Prevention Committee. She is also Producer for Collaborative Growth Transformational Coaching Podcast and has riot doing it.
